I carry a 2 stroke mixing bottle full of diesel for topping off top loading fuel filters, makes life a lot easier.

I use my little oil pump to vacuum the diesel into the filter using the bolt hole on the top of the housing, much easier and less messy for me than what I used to do.

I use one of those for my engine filter which works superb but the top loading facor type which I have as a pre-filter just need topping up to above the outlet hole level and work fine with no other bleeding, my filter is well above tank level so I just shut off fuel valves before changing filter.
