Re: a farmer writes ...

if your pontoon is like others then we have similar problems getting our animals across the many cattle grids wherein their heels get caught in the gaps. the solution is simple: lay small strips of 4x2 (adjust as required) in the gaps. this is a low maintenance, long lasting solution ...

hope that helps

What you need is some lateral thinking

The obvious solution to this problem is to park the boat next to the car in the car park. This would eliminate any pontoon walking. If you are concerned that all the liveaboard men would not be able to admire your morning walk then you should park the boat at the other end of the car park from the car.
The alternative is to become a "home worker" and then you could get all dressed up in your office gear, put your shoes on, and then sit down at the saloon table (assuming you have one) and work away!
What do you recon??

What about Astroturf (or equivalent). Would then be like walking through a fresh field of grass every morning. Could even put in a few pot plants and the odd cow to make it really feel like the country - but then you'd need your wellies (boating boots) again.

Stop calling Pauline an old cow! What she really needs to do is to cover it in linoleum so she can scrub it...

or even better park the car on the pontoon next to the boat - that little SMARTY thingy is small enuf to drive down the pontoon.

Actually its probably easier to carry the car to the boat /forums/images/icons/blush.gif /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
