This high pressure (1042mb today) and easterly wind is having a big effect the last couple of days. Yesterday evening the level was up to 2m below prediction and this evening it is 1.8m below.

The tide stream was also slowed right down according to guys out sailing today, and at least one got a surprise when he was expecting plenty of clearance on over a bank!

Leave plenty of clearance, and don't expect to get in at the last lock time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It is also worth remembering that the Aerosmith tide table uses a differant chart datum, for example at Newport the south lock is used and to correct to chart datum you need to subtract 1.7m

Cardiff subtract 0.6

Barry Subtract 3.3

Avonmouth figures are for King road so are chart datum.
