I’d like to install an alarm or sensor in my boat’s engine room to detect any build up of carbon monoxide or fumes. Can anyone recommend a suitable system and information as to its installation..?
I’ve found battery operated domestic type ones that one can install in the galley or cabins, but I’d like something a bit more robust for the engine room.
Thankyou

When I worked for Thorn Security they made CO, smoke and gas detectors for boats and ships, they also did a CCTV camera system that could catch the start of a fire long before it was detectable by the CO or Smoke detectors. They were mainly used to catch heat build up in bearings and any lagging on pipeworks.
The first CO detectors were invented in Aberdeen University in a joint project with Thorn Security, later that same month ADT took them over.

They were taken over by ADT but I don't know what happened to the Marine Division, they were kind of separate
