Recommendations.Car hire September .
Car needs to be at airport and only want to pay for fuel used.
Aware of the insurance minefield and need for DVLC paperwork.
Sixt seems to be OK ish. ?
Any suggestions probably want a C3 Picasso or similar.
Ta.....

Forget the big outfits with their long waits at collection and return and use www.autosroig.com.

Collect car at the airport multi storey and return car to the same place without any hold ups.

Full tank of fuel so you replace any fuel at airport service station and return car by placing keys in a letterbox at the car park.

Great firm to deal with and very competitive.

Also cars are new each year.

Absolutely hassle free.

Try www.carjet.com. I have used it loads of times and found it very reliable. All the car hire companies are looking for ways to increase their profits at the moment. They all want you to either pay a big refundable deposit 900 euros ish, or buy their insurance. Don´t buy any rental websites prepaid insurance. None of the hire companies will accept it and they will still want a big deposit. Watch out for fuel charges, best deal is usually full-full. Don´t be suckered in by the amazing low price for full-empty rental as they will charge you a fortune for the fuel. Compare charges for extra drivers too as some can be steep. Don´t pay when you book, select the pay on arrival option. Avoid a company called Firefly if it comes up as a choice, total rip off merchants. Little trick worth trying is to get a new quote 1 or 2 days before you travel and see if you can get a better deal. Sometimes this works as they get cancellations or no shows. If you haven´t already paid its easy to cancel your previous booking after you have booked the better deal.

A mate always uses Sixt. Highly recommends.

We booked through an agency Go Spain which turned out to be Eurocar. Fuel charge made. Otherwise very easy, no big queue.

Avoid Goldcar as the queues will take half your holiday apparently.

Vanrell are good as well there insurance is all in no extra charges and you bring car back with amount of fuel you pick it up,with the guy at airport you meet is a Welsh chap called Chris very helpful they tend to be expensive July August but very competitive at other times

We used Holiday Autos recently for Paris.

Absolutely brilliant with one HUGE caveat - the excess was the value of the car (which I don't think was made clear at booking) and they wanted a LOT of money to take the insurance excess down - but if you check that carefully when booking - they were untouchable on price and service was excellent.

carjet is a search portal like many. You may end up with a car from almost any company at their terms and conditions

Not to much wind or rain
and not to many jellyfish this time please.
Should be fun...
Have I missed anything

Definitely avoid the large national /international firms, I use avance cars, and have done for 25 years now. I pick up from the airport multistorey carpark, no queuing, just leave the fuel as I found it, and drop off again in the same place.

Very hassle free compared to hiring from the usual suspects.

How is their price level? The homepage is quite helpless.. no prices, no T&C, only a form to request a quote which seems a lot when just checking the market

It varies depending on the time of year.but as a guide some friends of ours have just booked a panda for this week at ~40 euro per day.

They also do a bulk purchase plan where you can pay for 50 days of a certain type of car to be used whenever needed. So I tend to buy in 50 day blocks at 900 euro for 50 days for a fiat panda.

A key benefit though is that I just pick it up and drop it off at the airport multistorey as if it was my own car, no visiting offices, filling in forms, queuing, etc. Its extremely convenient.
