Canvas-- RN type

I need some Royal Navy No: 7 canvas.. . .from the 1950s really. . . . .would that be cotton or linen , or a mix of both ?
It is for the roof of the cabin on my FMD.
Where could one buy that stuff these days ?

For a first call, you could try the folks at Chassee Maree magazine at Douarnenez, or the maritime museum there. Failing that, Chatham Dockyard or Classic Marine should be able to point you in the right direction. Further around the Easy-Cosy, IBTC or Excelsior Trust have probably come up against this problem before. I understand that heavy flax sailcloth is still being produced produced at Arbroath, or am I out of date there?
