Canarian Cruising.

In nice and early today. Last time I came here it wasnt fully finished. Now its heaving and we are rafted 3 deep on the long pontoon. Looks like a whole new town has grown next to the marina but wil likely remain unexplored.
The marina bar above the office is a pleasant place to while away an hour whilst the officina staff are out and about!
Another early one tomorrow as we set off for island 5. Puerto Rico on GC for cheap beer and Tom Jones impersonator. As you do.

These early starts are getting to be a habit! Night in for the team a bit of a break from pubs and restaurants.
Slick departure this morning outside boat in raft. Few whispers to slip and gone.
Clear sky promises a nice sunrise. Little wind forecast but often picks up in the wind acceleration zones between the islands. Light forecast yesterday turned into a one reef broad reach.
Hope Tom Jones is having a good nights kip.

Adventures r us!
The two others both keep yachts in lanza and I live there. So its a lads blast and everyone is lovin it. Its more about the sailing and the islands really.
Have put in some good traing too and will take a noon sight for latitude shortly.

Oh and...the pubs!

Wowser no room at the Puerto Rico inn. So lacking a pregnat virgin and a donkey but having a phone we are now engaged in an Italian Decoke run back to Mogan.
Unlucky Tom.

Very nice to have met another forum user. And of course your dog!
This morning divide and conquer. One off on forage party, one to return key at office whilst I prep boat. Which mostly involves sitting about.
Today after overnight rain we got light winds and sunshine. Our brief stop in Puerto Rico also included bunkers so soon its slip and go.
Will use the anchorage off Moro Jable for a few hours at dark oclock. Will leave there after sunrise for Gran Tarajal. Lads want to see something of Fuerta in daylight for future reference. Nothing at all to do with naked ladies on beaches. Whatsoever. No.
Last island before homeward bounders back in time for Strictly!

Mogan now full again....

A few hours zzz saw us waking up to scottish sunshine. However after a harbour tour its been sausage sarnies off the big lighthouse and a nearly caught a fish moment.
Hopefully the drizzle will clear through later.
MJ is a biiiig tourist resort so the holidy people may be a bit grumpy with the precip.

Google suggests they were atlantic skipjack.
We baked them in the oven with salt and lemon. Yum.and as we are alongside a glas of slightly chilled rioja. As you do.
Gran Tarajal is its usual sleepy self with excellent staff.
Final leg to home tomorrow island number 7.
Early start plus intend to do a quick recce in Rosario.

Sunday is going to seem very quiet....

Standards achieved. Made Restinga after a neat if rather rolly and squally passage of just around 12 hours and 65 nm.
No room on pontoons so alongside a mmm sea wall behind lifeboat.
Cranky village. Love it last place before edge of world! Not for everyone but you make it with your crew.
Another early start in morning for San Sebastian Gomera. Tad shorter at 55nm so late pm if, hope if, there is room.
Winds dropping pm soo fingers crossed!

Oh no I missed this thread. We’ve been in La Restinga for ages and were there when you came. We were the Seastream in the pontoon closest to the gate. Best spot in the harbour :) would have treated you to a meal aboard if I’d spotted this earlier!

We actually sailed from all Restinga on the 18th also at around 4pm. Sea was a mess! So lumpy and short. Struggled to make progress up wind but eventually got going and anchored of the old fishing outpost in Cala Cantera... best anchorage in Canaries :)
