Thank you Grehan! Apologies. I once new someone called Grenan. His last name ended in ......ski. I think he may have been Finnish.
The idea of Boris on a fire breathing horse appeals, but I very much doubt we will see it! Regardless of the aggressive stance taken by J C Junkers and his cronies nothing can happen until whoever is the new PM invokes article 50. Those bureaucratic toss pots in Brussels wrote the procedure for exit and now they are complaining because the UK is following it to the letter. Until our parliament issues a formal letter they can't do anything. Not legally at least. So borders stay as they are and will do for at least 2 years, so don't look for any horsemen yet! Watching the news on "euro" channels it is clear that the euro politburo are very scared that the Dutch, Swedes, and even the French will move for a Dexit, Swexit or Frexit, and are keen to flex their muscles to show how big and powerful they are to stop them. Exactly the sort of behaviour that has led us to this sorry state. In fact the French and German stocks have fallen more than the FTSE has and sterling is already recovering against the Euro so never mind quoting the Eagles. Just remember Mr Mannering DONT PANIC!!!
However, on the original subject, I think if I can see the Seine is OK (of course it wasn't when I started this) and as we can now see from the VNF site that it should indeed be so I agree and will stop worrying. Be Happy!!
Finally, although I have put many nautical miles of blue water under my keel in my 74 years, I am a fresh newcomer to the canals, so be patient with me, I am a baby here! BTW we are still getting violent thunderstorms here right now. Met says they are imported from France....... Hope that's not an omen!
