As per title of post, has anyone had good service from an insurer and the initial quote has been better than others

Help suggestions appreciated as need to put some in place
 
GJW always gets good feedback on here and I've used them for 10 years+. One claim and they were very professional and accepting the quote supplied without fuss and with a quick payout.
Mostly the cheapest quote too and on couple of occasions they have price matched.
Highly recommended.

+1....... Had a claim, no issues.
 
Hi
We have been with Colman marine they have been brilliant. Had a claim against another yacht and they sorted straight away, also got stuck in jersey and had to get get boat brought back by another person, phoned on a Sunday, they asked for name and experience and put him onto insurance over the phone, they have priced matched every year so not have to change. Can't recommend high enough,

+1 for Coleman.
 
Traffords. Been with them on and off for years, but never had to claim fortunately. The policy is clear and fair, and most importntly they offer the best price I can find year after year no on else can touch them.

Another vote for GJW, have been with them for 10 + years now and always had good service, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, and although I have never claimed I have always stuck with them due to their excellent customer service.
 
I too have used Nautical Insurance for over 10 years. In that time I've had one claim and they paid out fully and promptly, so I'm very happy with them.

There's a thread in here where JFM contributes some very important observations about policy wording around consequential loss, wear and maintenance and which companies don't stack up. Sorry I can't search and give you the link - really slow mobile connection in a hotel tonigh. It's well worth searching it out.

Fascinating insights both here and on the previous thread, i'm just as guilty as some for going for the easiest option without reading the small print first. Don't think i'll make the same mistake next year...
 
Was with HKJ, had 2 claims in 2 years, they settled promptly and without quibble. Moved to Veleos last year as Sealine Owners Forum had a deal with them. Found them very pleasant to deal with but have not had a claim.

Best check the potential insurers claims settlement history, cheap is not always the best.
