Can you really see out of the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 DS windows when seated?

Firstly there's no sales pitch here. Information only. And secondly perhaps you could point out something that matched the original enquiry, visibility from within, with costs. Or not.

Thanks - the current problem with the Moody DS 41 is it lot more than a standard Moody41ac say probably twice the price and not a lot of space but the older45ds now looks a better buy . As a moody owner I’m not convinced even though I know they have crossed Atlantic etc that they are really suited to uk south coast but for a trip round Baltic can see attraction

The recent “Moody” models share very little with the original Moody models - they are now a Hanse brand, are they not, and leverage much of their experience rather than old Moody.

Why are you addressing this to me, i have not posted in this thread ?

Although this thread is about the 43DS, if you start looking at the 41DS and 42DS, be aware of the differences between the cockpit lounging areas. The 42 has a large step at one end making it impossible to comfortably lay flat and snooze.

It's trivial things like this that steered us from one model of boat to the next. We found a great 41DS to buy but the Ancasta sales rep was such an ar$e to deal with, we walked away. Ended up buying a Benny from Maiden Marine who were a pleasure from start to finish.

Designed by Bill Dixon (who has now moved upsize in design work) so hull/design look very different to Hanse shape but yes built in Hanse operation but separately I recall from our build pictures ie different shed. Clearly neither the AC versions or the current DS ones have same lines etc as a Hanse or for that matter a Dehler but the parts are shared eg diesels, winches, light switches, fridges ,cookers etc. this has downsides but also positives in repairs . I suspect they sail differently but not having sailed a comparable Hanse don’t know . The AC were produced in limited numbers and now ceased new production but the DS particularly 45 versions been going some time.

Years ago I looked after a 43ds in the med. I found it a great boat. The ports inside are a little high to see out of, but the general layout and flexibility of the aft cabin and fwd bunk cabin was excellent.

A great boat, and if I hadn't got my Ovni 435 I would have got one of them myself.

I suspect an Ovni somewhat outside the budget for the OP but I remember being anchored in Bonafacio when we saw how robust they were after a few anchoring issues arose.🤣. Seemed like a great live aboard vessel for Med which is I guess where most spend their time.
