Wasn’t at all sure. Think BR seems more likely but not managed to identify the model. Even assuming it’s been built to the drawings….

It's not a De-Groot. As a fabricator you will know that it is vital to get it blasted inside and out and primed as soon as any remedial work is complete. Otherwise it is a complete waste of time and money.
I'd also recommend installing pair of large, heavy duty bilge keels. These will allow her to dry out and remain upright.

Great idea. I was considering bilge keels so it can be kept on a tidal berth. I will have to look into it.

Keith's comment about the Mig-Welding Forum might be worth following up.
There was a thread on a guy refitting his late father's steel cruiser. Included work on bilge keels.

Mig isn't suitable for heavy duty welding. I'd stick to arc in your position as I did when building my De-Groot.

You might explain that a bit more. The plate is only 4 & 5 mm?

I was thinking about the bilge keels which will be substantially thicker, around 10mm at least if I were doing it. Unless your thinking of 4mm aerofoil sections which would be nice.

My Mig is quite happy on 10mm, but a bit heavy... Transformer based 285.
