Weve seen her a few times this summer anchored around Ibiza and she looks amazing.
She makes all the other super yachts anchored nearby look very ordinary when I’m sure that their owners would wish otherwise. The design is clever in that comparisons with other boats and yachts isn’t easy so I guess that she will remain uniquely identifiable for ever. Which I guess could be desirable for a wealthy owners.
And she looks huge. A bit like the cruise ships when they move through The Solent.

Indeed, and that's presumably what the owner was paying all that dosh to achieve.
Can't imagine she's much fun to sail though.
There's a YouTube video of her with a bunch of Optimists sailing past. They're completely dwarfed by A, but I bet those sailing them have got bigger grins on their faces than A's owner.

The grin on A's owner is because he's got the biggest, most expensive boat in the bay. Until a bigger one comes along, then it's just another boat. Not to my taste - if I wanted something huge, I'd far rather have Mirabella V
But for now, I'll stick with my Snapdragon and smile about the fact that it costs the owners of monsters like that more for a week at sea than I've spent in over 10 years

The fact is that they CAN spend in a week more than 99.999% of us can spend in 10 years. That has to have some satisfaction,-like it or not.
If you think that money does not help bring happiness - well, unfortunately, there are a lot more unhappy poor people than there are unhappy wealthy people
If the owner likes that yacht it his his choice. It would not be mine, But I will never get the chance to make that choice, so it is irrelevant.

I thnk some superyacht owners don’t really give a monkeys about sailing attributes or aesthetics, it’s more about palatial interiors and grand living with levels of security and privacy from paps, oiks and other perceived annoying persons that are unavailable with shore based accomodation.

I wonder what the percentage of truly happy billionaires is compared with the percentage of those who are of more modest means. I don't mean the genuinely poor, but those who reach the Esteem level in Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
I've often thought, when musing about a big lottery win, that it must be a terrible thing to be able to buy anything you want and have nothing to strive for.

People who get a lottery win are in a different situation. They have not earned it and have not grown into the society in which that kind of money might mix. Hence they may often be a bit like "fish out of water" & are not always (not every time) unable to manage the sudden issues surrounding wealth.
Billionaires have developed a lifestyle & are self conditioned as they develop their wealth This gives them a better ability to manage that lifestyle & wealth. it is a bit like those borne into wealthy families. they mix in a different society.
A fact that the current TV news does not mention when they talk about Oxford & similar universities only taking students from professional families because, it is politically incorrect to say why. It is simple because those families are more socially conditioned to the educational needs than students from "disadvantaged" families. It does not mean that they are necessarily brighter, only conditioned differently from families of plumbers & carpenters. That is not to say there is anything wrong with being a plumber or carpenter it is just a different social set that puts them at a " disadvantage".
In the same way lottery winners are from a different set to oligarchs. I am sure that oligarchs still keep "striving" & find it difficult to stop working simply because that is what they enjoy doing. It does not mean that they "must" be unhappy. It is only your take on a lifestyle that would be alien to you.
