Can heat exchangers be flushed on the water ?

the change of reading is what you want to see and success of the cleaning / modification.

Well , initialy i would like to confirm the 93deg reading on the gauge is indeed 93 and not maybe 88 due to a not perfect sensor / ground etc . In other words : do i need to adress this or is it just the gauge .

Out of curiosity : what temps do you see on plane with the kad44/300 in summer seawater temps ?

Record temperature seawater

Just home from a 100nm trip along the canals, taking the grandkids shopping in the outlet village at Maasmechlen.

On Monday the high air/water temps and direct sunlight on the gauges on the upper helm caused then to go up almost to 100c - Panic! - went below and the inside helm the gauges were reading 80 - 85c, still I stopped and checked the raw water strainers and they were clear with plenty of water coming out the exhaust.
Tomorrow I will be taking the heat exchangers apart and cleaning them, then we are off again for a week or so

With the elbow coming from the oil cooler to the bronze pipe going to the raw water pump collapsing from the suck from the raw water pump, I backflushed the oil cooler and the turbo intercooler with radiator flush, still think I need to do it a bit longer and use hot water, but there is more water coming out the exhaust now and the elbow hose is not collapsing at up to 1500rpm, but the flow is still less than the other engine, the impeller is fine and the wear on the raw water pump is still ok, so I would call this a limited success and as I won't be using more than 1200rpm it will be fine for our week long trip on some new to us canals.
