Davits. I bought them from a friend of mine who had them on a 1986 36ft Raffaelli. He hasnt a clue who made them and there are no markings at all. They are superbly built with teak facings for and aft. Fitted them this weekend and they hold my shiny new rib a treat /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Your probably right. The stainless is twice the guage of normal davits. I had thought coming from an Italian boat that they may be early Bessenzinis`but nothing like that on their website.

Very smart bits of kit. Never seen any like that before.

How hard was it pulling up the dinghy and engine without any sort of winch?

Although there is no winch, it looks like there's 3:1 puchase on blocks so I would imagine lifting the heavy end with the engine requires a 10-15 Kg pull, not bad really, but of course you'll need to pull 3 metres of rope to lift the dinghy up one.

They look really nice Paul, I saw some like it in earlier in the year but can't remember if they were in Brighton or Lymington. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Looks like a heck of a lot of leverage on that design. Are they well and truly secured through the base plate ? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Possibly a one-off personal job at a stainless shop ?

Thanks Roger. Yes I can almost pull the heavy end up one handed. The total weight of the rib is only 81kg ( boat 55, engine 26 ).

The Deck is nearly an inch thick at that point and has an aluminium plate laminated into it. I also have a 1/4 stainless plate on the inside too.
