Really need to know what's on the opposite end of the yellow. Please can anyone help ?! I can’t remember the yellow wire after disconnected the battery and replaced starter on my Volvo penta 5.0gl-j
Oddly, they also use black for DC negative. As you say though, they do use yellow and as there are no black cables visible in the OP picture i'd also suspect the Yellow is DC negative. I'd see where the other end goes before connecting it though. The Americans use yellow as DC negative (because they use black for AC live).
Absolutely. The most useful tool in the toolbox is the camera on the phone (plus the torch and recently, a sign of the times, the magnifier app!)I can't help, but I always take photos of wiring before undoing it - …..
To the s terminal on starter ? I already have a thin wire for itOn my old Volvo, the yellow with red stripe cable went to the key switch on the dash panel via a relay on a engine mounted panel on the engine. The other side of the relay was connected to the alternator via a red cable.
Of course you will need to check for yourself.
