Campingaz butane change to Propane - is this possible ?

£150.00 per bottle. £300.00 for a bottle and a spare. I wonder how long it takes to make any savings given that most boats use two or three bottles a year.
Well, at £35 a refill for a Gaz 907 it’ll take three years or so to ‘pay for itself’. The thing that would discourage me though is that there seems to be a dwindling network of gas suppliers that’ll fill these things. For instance, Morrisons used to, but my friend was turned away from their forecourt last time he tried.

Down here in Cornwall there is no LPG at Morrisons and the only vehicle LPG seems to be at 'Cornwall Services' on the A30 near Roche. So for us it's not that good a solution. Instead I have 19kg propane cylinders, which we use for cooking at home, and decent from one of these to the smaller bottles we use on the boat.

Cost of the 19kg bottle's refill is £48 at the local garden centre. The volume of 19kg of propane at 15°C is 37 litres, hence it's cost is 48/37 = £1.30 a litre. At the garage it's typically 80p a litre.

Cost breakdown for 5kg bottle refill is thus:
