I expect modern specifications are much higher, but many years ago I had a diaphram split, with a huge gas leak.

Usually use Ebay specials, made in India and replace them every 5 years whether they need to be or not. This year I am due a survey and have invested in a pukka “marine” regulator from a respectable supplier at at least 5 times the price. It looks identical apart from the paper label stuck on the top.
That’s the sort I had where the tap seized up -If it actually is a marine one, compliant with Annexe M, it should have provision for a vent pipe for the over pressure relief system, facing downwards, that you connect to a length of tubing that vents overboard.
If it doesnt have the vent pipe, it is probably not Annex M

Not so roomy when it’s got an anchor in it!The anchor locker on the S32 is pretty roomy so I keep a spare bottle in there.

Right I’ll have to investigate - my 12kg Vulcan must be similar size and shapeI keep a 15 kg Spade (together with 40 m of 8mm chain and 40 m of three strand 12 mm nylon) in the anchor locker of our Sadler 32 and there is still plenty of room for a spare gas canister.
Mine has 2 anchors in it+ bucket+ scrubber + 5 lr can of 2T & still room to spareThat’s the sort I had where the tap seized up -

I presume the standard regulators are not part M (so what excuse have chandlers like Force 4 got for selling them?) but I wonder whether the rotary valve is more leak proof than the that on the “proper” ones which turn through 90 degrees on the basis the knob will just keep turning to take up any wear?
