Campaign to re-instate Massives post!

Check out "A Big Day for me!" Massive PI still has a posting there and the total number of post is shown as 4 but only one is displayed when you view the users posts.

What is going on here???

well, the lack of pargraphs just show he cust and pasted from wp, so that ain't relevant.

I did a list of people who have mentioned "carlingford" and another who have ever said "just a thought" and the result is that the only person in both lists is {sfx: DUM-dum-DER} Sybarite. Yes! Come on team let's pull him in! {screeches off in large motor, with jimi pulling his coat on and nearly falling out of the car}

This is just like an unsolved "whodunit" and I am 12 time zones away from Carlingford so is nearly way past my bedtime. Solve it quick so I can nod off - have a thought for a weary cat.

The lack of paras was intentional - it was a postmodern, breathless narrative depicting awe. There were two typographical errors I can spot; "wain" (sp - wean) and "began hurtle this way and that " should have a "to" after began.

I'm going to get banned now but it was me. Sorry not to have owned up but it was satire - intended to keep it going as long as the humour worked. Sorry.

Might not be back again as when massive was pulled I had no warning.

I'll leave you with a Haiku about ideas (Japanese poetry based on three lines of 17 syllables, 5, 7 ,5. Just in case anyone wanted to know.)

Crimson twilight shapes
Lighted moments before dark
Signs behind closed eyes.

Yes, it was all pulled and I was banned from making any other posts, even private messages. Found that out when I tried to post. No warning nor explanation.

I don't intend to leave but I guess I may get banned now. I had no idea at all that having multiple IDs was against rules (just in case that was an issue), but I doubt they could have known about that anyway.

How much does Avis spend on advertising with YBM anyway?

Have you ever heard anything like it. We're all serious coves here, been everywhere since nowt but a wain and own more types of boat than you can shake a stick at, but I don't think anyone could best what my third cousin has just told me. Hadn't seen him for years. Thought he'd gone bluewater on me and I never thought I'd forgive him for that. Posh sod, I thought, leaving the creek and pouncing about out there sending emails to yachtie press about albatrosses and turtles and all that poncy stuff. What's wrong with the mud I'd ask him, but he just muttered on about dolphins and tiny little islands somewhere that only he knew about and how life on them hadn't changed for 50,000 years and if he could only find them he'd be able to write 2 or 3 hundred pilot books on places no one would ever go to and then get his own column in Yachting Monthly. I told him that if that was his plan he'd have to buy one of those fat plastic boats or a Malo otherwise they wouldn't be interested, but he went off anyway and bought himself this enormous great steel boat. Weighed about 36 tons and had a Chinese junk rig. Awesome thing to see, and he was soloing as well. Anyway, he was coming out of Glenarm into the North Channel and, out of nowhere, no forecast or anything, up came a F12 from the north, wind against tide. He didn't worry though, he said, 'cos he'd read the Adlard Coles book on this type of thing and so he calmly (he said) got out a parachute he'd picked up years and years before from the Army and Navy stores, fastened it to 300 metres of 40mm chain and chucked it over the side tied to the anchor cleat on the foredeck. Said he almost cr…ped himself as the boat instantly jerked completely to a standstill with a howl like a thousand banshees, apparently she hung there silently, bows to wind for an instant as time stopped (he can be very poetic despite never having been to school or anything) and then a cannon like boom (getting a bit derivative I told him, but he said that's just what it sounded like) saw the cleat and 2 sq meters of steel twang from the deck and accelerate into the clouds and disappear. He said his pants went warm for a while, but then, as the boat began hurtle this way and that totally out of control, he decided to lie ahull. Worked perfectly apparently and even managed to carry on in the right direction. Said she made over 60 miles leeway south over night until she reached the entrance of Carlingford Lough. (Later he tried to use the passage as one of those really tricky ones you need to do to put in for the yachtmaster thingie, but they said it didn't count, something about being underway without having a clue. Seems harsh to me, after all who does have a clue.) Anyway, he found that from being continuously pooped (bit like walking upstairs too often I guess) the engine wouldn't work so he SAILED HER UP THE LOUGH. Thru all those buoys and everything - now tell me that's not yachtmaster stuff. With this kind of skill he actually got her opposite the marina entrance (he knew about them having just come from Glenarm) and then he pondered a bit about how to get her through the narrow entrance before remembering that a 5hp outboard can tow the QE2 against any kind of wind anywhere. Well my cousin's a big lad, almost as big as me, and so not wanting to wake anyone up by asking for a tow (he's caring like that, his dad told him that marina people drink a lot so best not to wake them before midday) he wrapped seventeen bites of 15 mm warp around his waist and swam her into the marina and onto a berth. The manager spotted him (you might know him, decent chap, done a lot of sailing himself - he knows that old fishing cove who claims that anyone who goes to sea for fun probably goes to hell for a holiday - sounds a bit wimpy to me). Anyhow, according to my cousin the manager just whispered a hushed "bl..dy h.ll" and turned around and stalked off shaking his head. Never went near my cousin again. How strange is that? Anyway, my cousin says he was so tired he rested for a bit and then over the next five years he feddled a new engine out of a pile of dead cormorants. Said he'd read about it in PBO, but I don't really believe that. I saw the one about fiddling with seagulls but that was years ago. Anyway, I learned all this over the weekend. He's heading south now, to the Azores. Awesome. Have you ever heard anything like it? We're really proud of him for getting one over on a marina like that. Five years without paying absolutely anything. That's what I call sailing.

Explanation

Post was taken down when it became obvious there was a dual ID issue going on. The Mirabella post seemed a bit bizarre and that was what triggered the caution. Antennas tend to twitch a bit when certain patterns emerge and the MASSIVE_PI posts certainly triggered the oddometer enough to provoke a reaction this end.

Despite rumours to the contrary we have other stuff to do here and so the ID was banned and the most obvious posts removed for later perusal, all without time for an explanation at that particular moment.
A reminder we do track IP addresses and abuse of these facilities is taken seriously.

Our feelings about dual IDs are fairly well known and also explained in the terms that no-one bothers to read but everyone signs up to.
