HI
Looking to fit a hot air heating system like the one used in my HGV lorry, DO you think there is much difference in the running costs of Calor Gas over Diesel?(not red)
thx

Can't advise on cost, but one thing you might want to look at is the a gas one will cause condensation, and a diesel one will not.

Not in a blown air system such as a Propex. The combustion exhaust leaves the boat in exactly the same way as it does for a diesel fired heater.

Consumption figures for Propex heaters are given at http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/air-heaters.php

Eberspacher consumption figures are given for each heater at http://www.espar.com/html/service/download/technical.html

My experience of a Propex was that it was quite economical to run but I don't think it's possible to say which is cheaper without knowing more details about your installation.

ok thx

got some usefull info here thx, the running cost seem fine for the comfort offered, at a guess i would think gas and taxed diesel will work out about the same, maybe when we used red diesel there was a big saving
thx all
