This is so annoying. Just about every inch of intertidal space around the UK is designated SSSI already, how can it all be "special"? By definition only a small amount of anything can be the special bit. There are all sorts of other designations for the same spaces already. Now they want to fence it off for better access? Double speak.

"The foundation would like to see more snorkeling trails, underwater sculpture parks, easier access to water for swimmers and water users, more educational activities and projects to show those on land what is living in the local waters."

Of course better access means having to pay someone to do what is currently free. And who benefits other than the people who make well paid jobs for themselves wearing peaked caps and shouting at the public for walking on the grass.
