Is OMC a definate NO NO?......

Think the V6 is a Chevy block/// so engine sound... if cooling system is fine....

Had an mid 80's OMC ith the old drive which caused some probs, but later Cobra drives were actually quite good for the time..., but you need to have knowledgable service people around ... or gain the knowlegde yourself... could be bargain, but equally a hinder if selling again.... No such thing as a free lunch...

I think the old 195's have 2 seats either side of the engine box and then either 2 back to back seats up front (Or 1 back to back and 1 pilot seat)

Performance claim of 24mph/5mpg/1/3 throttle is not too far off the truth. (based on figures for my similar set up)

Its a cheap boat, but the OMC set up worries me, Mercruiser or Volvo would be better.

You might get a Fletcher Sportscruiser for your money, either an late 18 or early 19. At your budget it would probably be an outboard.

Theres a few Bayliner 2052's on Ebay-lot of boat for the money.

Hi Al

the four winns you said on your first post the seller has had it quite a while I emailed him a couple of times via ebay about it seemed a genuine seller, but in the end it was the cobra engine that put me off.

I did in the end find a fletcher 240 and solid built boat I have to say with trailer it was under the 6k.

have you tried loch lomond marina at balloch?

Good luck in the search

Ok thanks for that.

I would prefer a fletcher 19 spoertcruiser, but thought it might be difficult with my budget.

Here is a picture of the actual OMC engine we are talking about.

Fletcher Faro? (18 foot)

Although I recall their were inboard versions (different builders?) I am thinking for under £6k outboard on the basis that for that budget I would not really want the risk of the likely mainttainence (replacement?!) costs of an old high power inboard engine / installation.

One down here (a doer upper with an older 70hp 2 stroke) was asking £2 1/2k but normal asking prices seem to be around your budget - quite often with a trailer.

£5k - Faro

Ideally I'd like something like this with a Yamaha 115hp Outboard on the back.

This one is a 2002, so a bit expensive, but I believe that shape went back to 1998 or 1999, before that it was called 18 Sportcruiser, a slightly squarer shape, which was actually our first boat.

Does anyone know of a Fletcher 19 GTO Sportscruiser with Outboard from Late 90's?

Cheers

Al.

That is exactly like our first boat, except we had a 115hp on the back.

Yes Alf, A boat like that except, I was hoping to try and get the slightly newer rounded shape 19 for that money.

Cheers

Al.
PS, PM on its way.

How about a classic?

It's probably too far for this one but what a boat for the money!

Sorry, just found it had already been posted, never mind still worth it IMO.

I really don't see the distance being a problem if the boat is right.

I'd be interested in your and other peoples thoughts on it.

Al,

me, I love the older ss, mines 20 years old, they are good sea boats, built like brick outhouse's, but a lot of opinions will say they look dated, but I love 'em. although a pair of petrols would make a sizable hole in your wallet!
