C-Map card wont read when changed to another plotter

I have just changed boats.
My old plotter, a 4 year old S-H, has one C-Map all Britain and Channel card.
My 'new' boat has a Raymarine (approx 7-8 yrs old) with C-map Channel card.

The Raymarine Channel C-Map card works in the S-H plotter, but the S-H all Britain C-Map card will not work in the Raymarine plotter?

Any ideas why?
Could it be that the newer card will not be able to be read by the older plotter due to software/hardware changes?

Not sure why one works and other doesn't but when you buy charts on c-map you need to say which brand its for so there must be some differences.

Ah! I hadn't realised that, I bought the all GB chart with my S-H plotter and thought it may transfer to the Raymarine, so it's poss' the reason.

When I bought my boat it had an old Raymarine mono chart plotter over the chart table.

I needed info in the cockpit so bought a Standard Horizon 300i with a new chart.

Both instruments use the same type of chart memory card.

The chart from the Raymarine works in the Standard Horizon but the new chart does not work in the Raymarine.

I too assume it is firmware/hardware incompatibility but is no problem for me

Hello **** and thanks for your enquiry… I suspect your Standard horizon plotter used the C-MAP MAX (Orange) C-Card which unfortunately your RL80 CRC+ is not compatible with as it was designed around the older NT+ ( Black ) C-Card. But as you have found out the Standard horizon can still read the older NT+ chart cards.

If you have a spare or redundant C-MAP card that you want to exchange or update to the current NT+ format to work in your RL80 CRC+ then just let us know the chart card code of the old area and advise where about you need chart coverage when using the RL80 CRC+ system.
