Re.towline, I only tried it with a normal slalom skiboat (with no arch, so towline attached to the center pylon), and didn't have any problem. Well, not because of the towline, that is...
Besides, at the beginning also the speed is much lower than what you see in the clip: 15 to 20 kts is enough to ride on the hydrofoil alone, and that's already great fun.
On the other hand, I guess that the raised towline has its importance when you're aiming at pro tricks and jumps.
