Hi guys,a couple of mates got 2 pukka yachts ünder the counter"for cash (way below market value) from customs in carribean, back to blighty, the boats had been on some drug run `ting and the customs guys wanted cash and the boats out of the way. Obviously there will be issues,eg title, who really owns it,can you prove it`s yours etc,but it was still well worth it after the inevitable hassles and risks. I am now in a position to do the same and 2 or 3 of us are going out. Any suggestions as to which island? (Those particular yachts came from Florida with all the bells and whistles, but anything over 12M or so crewable by 2/3 would do if it made it.) This is a serious enquiry, never say never, thanks for any helpful replies, regards,Jerry.

Don't go the Caribbean - the bargains are here for you 'cash under the counter' people.

I have a nice bridge for sale, hardly used, want a quick cash sale. It goes across the Thames but is hardly used. A £50,000 cash deposit will get it, with the balance on delivery.

They do the same over here, though they do it in an open auction, so look for the Customs auction sites when you have seen the yacht of your dreams be confiscated!

Thanks for replies.
Thereandback:
Is that the one when the licenced Thames watermen confused single screw with Voith Schneider units? London Bubbler or something, anyway scrap price rocketing, sounds a good deal if I hear someone after a bridge will let you know.

Have also heard that traces of drugs are nigh impossible to get rid of - sail the boat back to Europe, get greeted by sniffer dogs , go direct to jail.

for £10k from a brokerage north of Chicago, so would guess auction prices better. I think USCG also hold auctions. You can email an enquiry via their homepage at www.uscg.mil
