Kevb (and others and Mrs S) have already noted this. Island harbout is up for £3m. Anyone fancy making a few maritime quid? It's £3million quid. So, PM me if you oho have just noticed you have noticeable qtys of cash like um £250k lying about, and we can nip round and buy it. Needs most of £5m to build the 50 houses, sellem, get money back, then keep free marina.

Innovative ideas such as making it the worlds first lap-dancing marina and all the security guards are topless bimbos will be seriously considered. Just think of the publicity!

Well, the marina has 100 berths I think so £5million / by 100 = £50000 each - buys us the marina and 2mill to build the houses. Should get our money back easily + free berth for life + some left over for a bigger boat.
Count me in.

Make for Cowes, but then carry on up the river beyond the chain ferry. Halfway to Newport it's on the LH side near the Folly Inn. Entry to the marina is tide restricted, but it is very quiet and away from the Solent masses.

Great opportunity, as it is in a beautiful spot, albeit with restricted access of about 2.5 hrs each side of high water. Its a great retreat from the madness of Cowes.

The trouble with it is its staff. The Flynn family voted it the worst stop of the Summer. The staff couldnt give a damn. Filthy facilities. Hopeless bar.

Fortunately these are easy things to put right. However the whole business case is going to depend on planning permission for housing. I suspect this is a job for professional developers, and not us amateurs, unless we have some of these in the ybw community here.

Also all raggies must spend £100 each at the bar, if not they will then be billed £100 anyway. That means they'll have to buy us genuine boaters a drink.

You'll need the raggies to help you navigate along the river you'd only get lost! So its gonna be a stinkie ghetto (i.e. raggie free) is it?

On a more serious note 5000 shares @ £1000 a share = £5m squid. Lets run it from an offshore company for tax purposes. Now does any know someone who lives offshore! :)
