Buoyage for the Orford Haven

I'll be interested to see the chartlet when Imray have produced it for the ECP website. Really surprised at the buoy positions, the Oxley is going back in the same place (I think) as last year, where it had become very shallow. Presume the winter winds and waves have shuffled things about again.

Indeed there seems to have been significant changes. The buoy positions confirm the description I was given by the Aldeburgh Lifeboat Coxwain after towing a motor yacht in there recently. It was described as a dog-leg.
There appears to be a southern build up and the re-appearance of a 'lagoon'.

Trinity House has notified their intention to move the Weir, Oxley and Haven buoys on or around 14th April.

Thanks for this.

It looks very much as it did when I went down to Shingle Street to take a look at LW Springs early on the morning of Friday March 11th. Took some pix, made a sketch and these new dog leg buoy positions seem to be the best option.

There is indeed a lagoon again, which has been used by kite surfers through the winter.

Don't know whether there was much change after the gale on Easter Sunday night into Monday last week though.
