I've got a piece of iroko I've bought a while ago to replace a rotten bit in the cockpit. The problem is that the seller messed it up and didn't round two corners off as I asked. They were apologetic and since sending it back and forth is not economical, they said they'd refund me the cost of getting it done, but it hardly solves the problem.
I've tried a few carpenters and people like that around my neck of the woods (Lancaster), to not much success. Where would you go to get a bullnose on a piece of wood?

What's the problem? Decent router and bits and take it nice and slow. I would have thought most timber merchants / cabinet maker would have been able to sort it out for you...

anyone with a router and the correct shaped cutter.
But why not do it yourself? if you have a wood plane take the bulk of with that( to make help keep the profile even run a pencil mark along the edge) and then use a sanding block with course 60 grit paper to finish the profile. finish the job with finer paper. Don't go mad with the plane as it is surprising how little wood you need to remove to obtain a nice corner

The problem is the obvious lack of imagination on my part, in a practical sense.
I've tried a couple of joiners (no luck), a frame maker's (nope, they use ready-made stuff) and ran out of ideas about where else I can go to let people look at me like I've got a third eye on the forehead or something. The only local wood merchant I know of trades in shiploads.

But a cabinet maker is a jolly schplendid idea. I actually know a bespoke bookcase builder downtown, should be able to pop it today.

Its probably not that they can't do it just that it is probably not worth their while.

Two bullnoses probably 15 minutes to set up the router and run so say £5, to make it worth while you would probably need to offer £25, even then a busy chippy would probably not be interested.

10 mins with a bullnose plane or smoother and sandpaper.Worth collecting wooden bullnose planes I have two or three from car boots and I did have one (alas stolen) made for me by a Viet' boat person extremely skilled, made all his own tools when he worked with me .
Most would do with the router though £30 ... Which is probably a min charge to open the toolbox anyway when you the count invoicing

You must know someone who does woodworking as a hobby!
Any self respecting hobby woodworker could do this in about 15 mins with one of the many tools in his garden shed.
Ask down the pub, one of those old geezers standing at the bar has the kit and the know how!

It's a shame you don't live near me. You'd get a mug of tea to drink while you watched me run it over the router table, and I wouldn't bother charging you for such a little job.
