BUKH DV20 ciylinders

My engine DV20 was built in 1979. Now I need to adjust the valves.
Could you please to advise which cylinder is “the first”: the nearest to flywheel or another one.
 
For the DV20, the valve order is the same whether you work from the front of the engine or the rear.

i.e. exhaust, inlet, inlet, exhaust.

rather than memorise that, the exhaust valves can be readily idenified as being opposite the exhaust manifold ports.
Similarily, the inlet valves are those two closest to the central single air intake.

The order of the cylinder adjustment doesn't matter really.

Just a case of making the check/adjustment near TDC on the
compression stroke for each cylinder in turn.
