Please can anyone tell me the thickness of a new cylinder head gasket for a BUKH DV10? I'm going to make one and I need to make sure I order the right thickness of gasket material.

Hi Parsifal, why make on when the correct thing can be purchased for a few quid from just down the road at
http://www.bukh.co.uk/contact.html ?
A few quid! £56 for a gasket for a single cylinder engine. Are you made of money?
A piece of suitable material, enough for two gaskets, will cost ca. £11. An hour with a piercing saw and the job's done.
One day God will punish BUKH for the prices they charge!![]()
Out of interest what do you consider to be "suitable material"?
The same as is currently supplied by BUKH. Steel sandwiched between layers of fibrous material.
This sort of thing:

Looks the part but, extremely clean edges to holes cut are required otherwise you maybe starting the 'passage' for another reason to change it.

I have never seen a genuine Bukh gasket but I suspect it will have a soft metal ring folded top and bottom around the bore hole.
Without this, a short life can be expected. Perhaps find another 85mm head gasket and carefully unpeel it and fit it to your home made one.
Good luck.................................
I notice that the material supplier will also make a head gasket.
I considered doing this but after watching this video decided against it. https://youtu.be/KzzkYb6D22M
Combustion seal is what the second video I saw called it.Looks the part but, extremely clean edges to holes cut are required otherwise you maybe starting the 'passage' for another reason to change it.

He will. For £150.
That makes the genuine gasket a steal...................................
