Apparently I'm going to be 50% faster soon. Telewest have told me that for no extra charge they are going to increase the speed of my B/band.

I have one question to ask the forum members, that is, will I still be able to breath at such speeds or will I need an oxygen mask whilst making/reading a post?

Any input from members would be welcome as I don't want to die just yet

You should be able to breathe OK at the elevated velocities , however you will need to adjust your graphics card and monitor as the increase in speed will cause all of the colours to shift towards the red end of the spectrum, turning the delightfull blue and cyan of the YBW forums into purple and pink, and even shifting some of the darker reds down into the Infra red ;-]

Yes - got a nice e-mail from them advising of the changes.

I may be a cynic (sp?) but is this not in response to complaints that the speed of the network was pretty slow at peak periods?

I'm now waiting for them to tell me that because I'm 50% faster I have to pay 50% more.
BUT it is nice to know that I can still breath at such speeds?

Me too :)

Actually noticed it kicking in last night too- I can now achieve the giddy speed of 90kBs downloading from their newserver.

Shame their newserver is so C**P that there is nothing on it to download :(

You don't know yer born. I remember when 300bps was the norm and 2400bps was broadband. Seems like only yesterday......bloody hell, it was only yesterday. Don't time fly? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
