Builders Certificate

I have a buyer for my two year old dutch built boat but the Finance Co are asking for the original Builders Certificate which cannot be found. The Dutch builders do not respond to E mails or phone calls requesting copy of said certificate and the sale may well fall through without it. Any thoughts as to what to do next?

Go back to whom you bought the boat, they should have had all the correct paperwork to have sold you the boat firstly, usually boat builders keep records so why cant they produce a copy, failing that get on a plane and go to the factory, fax or phone them first, maybe use someone who can speak the lingo to do it for you, though most dutch people speak gook english, was there a uk dealer at the time of purchase, what make of boat is it?.

A friend of mine is selling his Pedro, and is having issues with documents and other details that look as though they have been incorrect from new, he is finding the builders less than helpfull and very arrogant to boot.

J.R. Cole Marine in Brundall have been the UK importers since about 2005. I should try them! It shouldn't be difficult to obtain a duplicate certificate from Pedro, although they will probably charge for it.

Think they are Stevens, only simmilarity is they are both tin.

I would be delighted to pay if only they would respond to my phone calls and e Mails. It looks like I will have to fly out to Holland and knock on the door.

When I insured my cruiser and RIB I was forced to provide all this information by my insurers which frustrated me at the time but now reading all your wows I'm glad I went through the hoops. Good Luck!
