Hi,

Since end 2011 I'm working on the construction of a Bonito 50 aft Cabin motorcruiser. I ordered in 2011 the casco in the Netherlands (at Bonito Boats). The casco was delivered at the end of 2011 and in my free time I work on the baot. The plans is to get it finished in 5 years. For those who are interested, you can folow the contruction on my blog www.dbdream.wordpress.com
I will try to put some pictures on the forum as well.
To start, a short overview of the contruction of the casco and the work untill now.
Have fun with it.

Wow!
Is your boat the the semi-displacement model?
What are the spec's? Cruise speed/ max speed/ fuel consumption/ hp/ weight ?

Yes, the boat is a semi-deplacement model. You can find more information on www.bonitoboats.eu
The engine is a 6 cilinder diesel from Iveco with 220 HP.
The max speed will be around 30 km/h.
The water deplacement will be around 22000 kg when it's finisched.
Fuel consumption around 50 lier per hour at full speed.

But before I can test all this, I still have a lot of work to do :p

Wow, great project. Thanks for posting on here. I hope people on here can give you some useful ideas. We would love to see pictures of the build as it progresses

I'm replying here to your reply #352 on the other thread... http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?359945-another-idiot-with-mad-ideas-new-boat-build/page12
Hi, Yes, the dashboard was more or less inspired by this one. Thanks for your comment and following my blog.
...ha, you should have asked! I paid about £15k to have that mould custom made (by Broom, who are the top GRP toolmakers in the country) and I still have it. I could have given it to you for free, so you could have made the dash in GRP. If you need any help with the supply of the painted aluminium panels, let me know

J,

you should add this bonito dash to your CV for when you apply to Hardy as a design and detailing consultant for their 80ft so that you get hull #1 FOC :p

cheers

V.

How are you going to finish that furniture D-Dream? Spray gelcoat might be much nicer than paint

I love the dash in the background of the second picture. You've even now added the raised plinth for the steering wheel boss!

(BTW, Your photo storage on this site is very limited. you might want to open a photobucket account and put the pictures there, and hotlink to them from this site)

Thats a helluva project. Do you really mean you are going to build her yourself without any professional help? Yes please keep posting on the forum

The furniture will be finished with gelcoat. I still have to make 2 parts and then I can start the finishing.

Can you tell me how I can open a photobucket account on this site? I looked but i didn't find it?

Hi, I'm going to build the boat by myself. When necessary I can get professional advice from the creator off the Bonito 50. He has many years of experience in boat building. It's a hobby for me and after a stressfull day it's always nice if you can work a few hours on your own boat.
The hull (complete casco) was build by Bonito Boats and the railing was also placed by a professional company. The rest (until now) was done by myself.

I think I found it to make the photobucket account. Let's try with a picture of the flybridge...

Hi D-Dream
You should be able to put an IMG tag directly from Photobucket into a post - this is what it looks like on the iPad version of PhotoBucket:

Just click on where it says "IMG code - tap to copy" - and then paste the code into your post.

Really sensational project, by the way. Keep the updates coming!

Let's try:

It looks like you might have to edit the code that PhotoBucket provides so that only the bit starting with [IMG and ending with IMG] remains. Not sure why you should have to do this - perhaps someone else knows a better way ...

Anyway, I've edited your quote above - and it seems to work.
