Build of a Bonito 50 Motorcruiser

Hello all,
First of all I like to wish all the followers of this tread a very happy new year.
Since the last update I finnished the furniture for the flybridge and the cockpit. All parts are painted now and I'm happy with result. I build in the hatches, speakers and LED lightning. The cockpit has received his alu plates and some of the equipment is already build in and connected. In the part below the cockpit I have made a junction box were al electrical connections from the flybridge equipment will come together. I also started with the wooden structure in the front of the boat.
I will post some pictures later.

Here are the photos:

best wishes to you Dany, can I wish you a boat afloat in 2014 ? don't remember your scedule

well done, and thanks for the upgrade,

- looking from these pics you wil have approx 30cm space between the ankerchain locker and the inside separating wall (the frame you have made)
why is that ?

- the grey panels on the dash, are they spray painted, or natural alum or... ? not visble here on this screen

- well done on the painting,
did you do this yourself ?
was it spray painted ?
in a paint cabin, or just in the "garage" ?
I'll need a spray painter (or similar ) for a few small repairs on my boat in spring
if you fancy a long weekend in the South of France, you're welcome :)

Hi Bart,

The space between the ancher chain locker and the wall is made for 2 reasons:
1. The width ons the acher chain locker is not large enough to make a bed.
2. This gives me the possibility to use this space as a locker to store some stuf.
The space is approx 50 cm.

The grey panel on the dash are spray painted by the supplier of the panels. I ordered them in Holland in the dimensions that you want and you can select a lot of RAL colors.

The painting of the furniture is done by myself. It is done with a roller. The paint comes also from Holland (was quite expensive, but very good quality). All parts have been painted 3 times.

Thanks for the offer to come to France, but I think I still have enough to do... Sorry.

Regards
Danny

Hello,
Sorry for the long absence, but I was tu busy working on the boat :-)
In January and February I continued with the interior in the front of the boat...Placing the frames, the walls and insulation.
I could not place the port holes yet because the outside of the boat is not painted yet, so I decided to do the painting on the outside first. In March I started with sanding the upper constructoin and paint it with the primer. Now I've started with filling the holes and make it nice flat. Therefor I use the 2 component filler from De Ijssel. A time consuming job...

Hello,

It's been quite a long time since I posted some news about the progres on my boat.
In the mean time, the boat is painted (finaly) and I started to mount the different pieces on the boat like the portholes, hatches, etc...
You can see the latest picture on my blog
Regards
Danny

I'm afraid I couldn't understand much of the Dutch comments, but it was nice to have a look at the pics anyway.
Thanks for the link, and congrats for the progress! :encouragement:

Out of curiosity, how are you thinking to finish the decks surfaces? Fwiw, I'd rather NOT use teak, on a vessel like that.
Besides, did you have reasons for not preparing the bow for two pocket anchors, on both sides of the bow, rather than one along the centerline?
You might not necessarily need/want two anchors of course, but at build stage it shouldn't have been much more expensive/difficult to keep at least the option for the future, along the "you never know" principle...
Also when reselling, someone might appreciate that - I for one would! :)

Hi,
Thanks for your comment.
I tought to use artificial teak on the deck. The reason for the central anchor is based on the costs. I also think that a boat from 15 meters has enough with one anchor in the center? With the anchor plate already installed it's too late to change this anyway.
