Buhk Dv20 Engine mounts

I spent ages looking on every possible webite and ringing many suppliers to try and find an alternative, but to no avail. ALL of those that appeared to be contenders were too high. As you will know, the Bukh mounts are very low profile, so I eventually came to the conclusion that unless I bit the bullet and lowered the engine beds, the shim adjustment had to stay.

I almost did start on the beds, but then reasoned that, pain though it was to line up the engine, as it was only done once in God knows how many years, I'd live with the inconvenience.

Interesting, have Robush and AvIndustrial stopped selling the RAB mounts for the DV20? The RAB2 mounts were perfect for my DV20 (see http://www.missionsupplyonline.com/pdf/RAB.pdf for dimensions). I think that they were made by Trelleborg (Part no. 10-00179-01).

The RAB mounts are only about 35mm high and I only had shims a few mm thick under a couple of these mounts. Are your mounts lower than 35mm?

Many years since I bought DV20 mounts from Robush and I remember them being ~30% price of ones from a BUKH dealer. I assume that they finally realised that they were cheap and possibly bumped the price. I think I paid about £64 for 4 and might still have the part number somewhere, though that was about 6 years ago.

Just checked my archives and found the invoice for RAB2 mounts M12 55sh (10-00179-01) at £19 each incl. VAT. Only dealt with Robush but it sounds as if AvIndustrial are worth checking.

You can get the spec. here for the parts I bought to help find a similar part from AvIndustrial. http://www.missionsupplyonline.com/pdf/RAB.pdf Might be useful if you ever need to get new mounts. Mine only failed due to a fuel leak and it sounds as yours are still fine.

This has been discussed here several times and I remember the point about differences between front & back mounts. I also seem to remember that being a red-herring as they had been identical for some time. Certainly wouldn't consider original BUKH mounts as, just get the part nos. from the existing mounts. I seem to remember Robush saying that they mainly sold them for small site-generators and that was why they were cheap.

I sold my DV20 engined boat in 2009 and obviously haven't checked on availability for more than 10 years.

EDIT: Just realised that you a probably talking about the lack of adjustment on the low RAB mounts and that shims are the only option. It had never registered as being a problem during the 24 years I owned that boat. I only altered the shims 2-3 times and it wasn't a big deal, obviously just very lucky with the alignment and setup.
