Has anyone here visited Bude? I'm told they accept visiting yachts and am tempted to give it a try this season.

I have Bude on my list too. I was told a couple of years ago that it is quite expensive to have the lock open so it is better to go in a group. May be best to contact the harbour master.

It's one of the more interesting little ports on the N coast if there is any W in the wind.
The canal side of the gates has been beset by various political and financial issues, and the whole wharf remains vulnerable not only to storms from the sea side but also to fluvial flooding.
