Thanks very much everybody for all your helpful notes I'm looking forward to the trip and will let you guys know
how it went. Boatone's threatened to come so we'll have plenty of piccys too.

One final thought I expected a post from Falcon as I know he brought Millenium Falcon (42cl) round to the
solent after some work at Brooms. Come to think of it they've been quiet for some time, must be back
from the Grand Banks charter over the pond?

I'm at Brundall and Brooms is easy to find on the main river (on the right as you go upstream). The railway swing bridge at Reedham had broken down, which means that a gang of men have to open it. Previously it pretty much opened on request at any time but it has had a restricted service. Not sure if it is fixed yet but Brooms will know - bit of a stink in the local papers with Brooms having their say, presumably because most of their boats can't get under without it opening (don't have that problem in my P32). Best to navigate Gt Yarmouth/Breydon water at slack water. Have a good trip.

Re: Coliholic

Col if theres no air draft probs why is everyone saying start at low water ??????

Re: Coliholic

Theres no air draft problems at the haven or breydon bridges at low water, for him, but the tides are quite vicious on breydon water and very vicious through GY. Thats why they say slack water, preferably low, you can also see the passage very easily on breydon at low water, the seagulls walk on it!
