Brugge instead of Oostende

Stellendam to Calais took me 19 hours - sat off Ostend for 2 or 3 on the fould tide section in the middle of the 6 fair / 6 foul / 6 fair plan.

I expect you know there is a big pontoon on the seaward side of the lock. BTW I hate that lock! :eek:
 
We dried out at Ramsholt to scrub off, slap on some antifouling fit a new shaft anode and check the cockpit drain skin fittings that I have been worrying about following the thread about brass fittings on Scuttlebutt.
We had some large lumps of some sort of egg type thing some the size of half a football.
They were attached to areas of barnacles.

Anyway all ready to go now.
I hope the forecast is incorrect, WindGuru is giving SW 6 to7 Thursday night Friday at the moment.

Another fast sail accross to Belgium then:D Looks to be moderating through Friday though. GRIB charts show nothing building in the atlantic for latter though, looking forward to it.
 
Hope to leave Shotley sometime between 11.00pm Thursday and 02.00am Friday depending on when the dissparate (or perhaps desperate) crew turn up.
 
And....
Two crews following on late Friday eve Charisma and Te Arawa - plans shaping for a sociable crossing.
Early boats I wish you all a safe passage whether it be Brugge or Oostende and look forward to meeting you ECF folk on Saturday.

Due to the forecast weather amd pressure of the new job I am reluctantly pulling out of the Brugge trip.

There was only petehb and Wunja coming as well.
Pete has indicated that he will go the Oostende insted.
I have therefor informed the BZYC that we are having to postpone the trip until another time.

Sorry to let people down.
 
Sorry to hear that Clive we will have to try something later in the season, I have a spare berth if you want it, it would be cosy but doable.

We have a Plan B for the weekend and I am getting some browny point at work for cancelling the days off.

Later in the season would be good.
We will have to see if any one else is up for it in say September.

Last two weeks in September for me are good got to go on a proper holiday first two:rolleyes: See you on the water later.
