Brugge instead of Oostende

Heather and Steve

We are going to the Brugge Zail & Yacht Club.
They are at the end of the canal from Zeebrugge before the roundabout lock.
If you want to come in from Oostende, I think you would have to get a waterways pass and drop your mast.

It will be good to see you there I you can make it.

thanks Clive

we have a Pearl motor boat and only need 4.7 mtrs but we do hope to go in from oostende as we will not be able to get under that bridge at the end of the zeebrugger canal as our last boat only just fitted and i dont remember any problems going back through to oosende but that was several years ago.

No conections to the weather gods - can only hope.

Now had a e-mail for Eddy at the club who said:-
I can confirm that I will be present when you arrive and we can then make some arrangements together.
If a BBQ is to your liking (the weather permitting), there are enough shops or supermarkets around to do the catering.

For eventually some food at the clubhouse, I will have to check with some other club members here.
But anyhow we will do whatever in our means to be helpfull.

How many persons will come? Are there any special needs?

I will let him know the numbers that I know and confirm that we would go with the BBQ option.

Sounds good to me, if we can buy the food when we get there it will eliminate their exposure to cost of supplying it.

I am told that the local shops don't close until late afternoon and someone at the club would be happy to run a few of us to a supermarket if we want.

Declaration

Gents I have to declare my absence at this event. I will be in Bulgaria 28-31st May however would be interested to know what the planned ETA/ETD for Brugge are. Not that I would be thinking of a quick scoot over in the car or anything like that ........

As with every thing in sailing subject to weather I am thinking of leaving Shotley very early am Friday what's everyone else planning to do.

ps don't much fancy motering into an easterly or motoring if there is no wind on the outward leg it's hobsons choice on the return.

Vince

I have e-mailed RBSC at Zeebrugge to check that they will have space for us.
No reply so far.

Pete

We intend leaving the Deben on the evening tide and arriving in Zeebrugge mid Friday morning.

Once there I will check the lock times for the following morning.

I will monitor VHF Channel 08 and 16.

We are confirmed with 3 on board. Arcanian, Legend 33.

I was thinking of leaving from Tichmarsh on Friday morning about 4 am but want to sail in company with others. What ETD do you all have?

Very similar to yours but from Shotley.

We're planning to make oostende on thurs but fancy the trip into Bruges by train on Saturday - is the location of the bbq accessible ie near the town?
