Brrrrr \' illiant day for boating, plus pic\'s of Aviva
Havent posted for a while as I / we have been really busy since Sept with hols to Florida (week after hurricane Wilma) and work and stuff and poor weather ever since.
With the fine weather yesterday and the forecast for today we had the tough choice of either raking up the leaves in the garden or going for a spin on the boat to blast of the barnacles. Hmmm, I wonder what we did?
This year we took the decision to keep the boat in the water this winter and give winter boating a go and this was to be our first real 'winter' experience on the water. So wrapped up warm and went down to the Marina, whipped off the covers and found a little bit of mould on the grp in the cockpit but wiped that off and fired up the engine. Have to admit for the first time ever she missed a beat on the first start but second time fired into life with a little smoke at first, but, to be fair the last time we got out was the 18th September, oh the shame of it /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Pictures below but basically a burn down soton water, over to Osborne Bay nothing there so over to Portsmouth, see a helicopter buzzing about so go over to see the fuss and see ‘Aviva’ the boat, oh and skipper, embarking a ‘the wrong way round’ trip?
12 piccies, enjoy.
Leaving Hythe, QM2 Looking her best
Opening up heading down Soton water
Gloriously flat water looking back up Soton water
Some raggies out
Little 'un wrapped up warm and in command
New Landmark thingy
Aviva entourage
Up closer
Entourage getting intimate
Aviva up close
Heading home
