Just read the 2 reports, the bit I dont understand is.

Are they only having 2 dealers, NYA and Thames Boat Sales.

Or are they additions to Newark marina, offshore power boats, and the dealer in Ireland plus the Dutch dealer?

Is it just the 2 dealers that have secured the deals to build the new boats?

I suspect that the £1.5 to £2.5m worth of orders are dealer stock orders,as there can't be many punters who would have placed an order recently, therefore I would assume that there are more than the two mentioned

Which reports? Anyway, I happened to speak by chance to the new owners at SIBS and one of the issues they wanted to address was the distribution network which previously had too many dealers selling too few boats whilst competing against the factory also selling boats. It wouldnt surprise me if they decided to pare back the dealer list

Balance sheets over the past few years make depressing reading, and Broom has not been profitable for several years. Current line-up is either "quaint" if you like them, or dated if being more objective. Note on MBM site says they will sell through dealers only. This will reduce margins I guess, but will improve cashflow. It is cashflow that always kills businesses ultimately.

I wish the new operation every success, as I don't like to see UK heritage being eroded, but I would advocate an updating on style and performance.

Paul, I think the key words in the report are the new dealer "network includes two new firms"
