Are you sure it is not a Brooklands Aviation?
They built a range of motor boats called Dolphins.

They went from 16 feet to 24 feet. May even have been one a bit bigger.

Be careful. The ply hull is very susceptable to rot.

Re: Brooklyn\'s Aviation 16?

yep it's a brooklands dolphin 16, identified by Byron. the hull is very sound, and the mahogany frame seems sound. the only bit that is dodgey is the cabin roof. but, that's only 1/4" ply so to replace it isn't too much work.

do you know where i could get hold of any more information, as i think i'll go with this one and buy her.

regards,, steve.

Re: Brooklyn\'s Aviation 16?

I visited the Brooklands Aviation factory and saw these boats being built when I was a nipper. I can't remember the exact year, but maybe 1959 or 1960. As I recall, the boats had a reputation for being well built of good quality Brunzeel plywood. Good luck with the project.

Yea, used to own a Dolphin 20, built in huge numbers and very well.
The roof was normally covered in Trackmark which held water and made them rot.
They used very good quality materials and most that have been looked after still look good. Peter Freebody did the survey on mine and A. seemed to know a huge amount about them and B. did a very comprehensive survey.
I did for a short while in the 80's run an owners club but don't have any info anymore.
