Bronze through hulls life expectancy mk

Princess 33. Built circa 1979
Sold on in 2010 with original fittings,no problems when boat surveyed.
May still have the same fittings today ?

Thanks all and will just change the 2 sticking seackoc valves I have then and of course check the rest when out the water.

Never, unless they are damaged.
That is not what the recent surveyor on my boat said regardless of the fact they were replaced 2021, bronze through hulls with stainless ball valves from Lymington Chandler. He said both needed changing. He also said(in my view over cautious) that the 5 year old main outboard engine needed servicing by a Yamaha dealer which with the cost of lift out and in plus the service being the wrong side of £1000 killed the sale. This was despite my offer to show the records of my servicing oil/filter/gear oil and new impeller each year. He would not accept self servicing as ok!

Sadly some surveyors are pillocks.

Some surveyors display ignorance on this subject, including ones that write in PBO. Stainless is not necessarily the best material as it is prone to crevice corrosion in the threads although assembly with lots of sealant will minimise the chance of water getting at the threads.

You don't say what type of valves they are. Sticking ball valves can often be freed by cleaning the exposed edge of the ball particularly on the sea side where deposits can accumulate.

When did the diver last go down & check? 🤣 🤣 🤣
Axshually.....
Not that long ago a forumite did contact via the forum to ask if was aware of where the boat had been moved too.
He had spotted a P33 in a Welsh marina and could just about discern a name imprinted into the gelcoat on the stern which did not correspond with the name on the bow. Was in fact OGs old Princess.

On sale did recommend the lucky new owner that he get onto the forum as was gold mine of helpful and useful information and as this was his very first boat, well worth joining.
He did fact join the forum, believe his first post was regards problems his outdrives.
