Hi All, Just anti fouled the hull and I saw this sensor on the left in the photo. It look like a part has broken from the end. I am not sure what this sensor is for but I'd guess it is speed and in that case would need some water resistance. So I think part of this has broken off. what do you think?

Its a pitot tube used for boat speed. It just a hole which water goes up, compresses the air inside and translates to a reading on a speedo.
Have a look underneath it and you should see a small hole.
If it is snapped you can buy just the plastic part that screws to the hull. As little as £6-£7 on ebay

Lots of outboard engines have it built in. You just connect to it with the tube and suitable display. They are reasonably accurate and pretty reliable.

Ok thanks. I thought it needed some sort of resistance to move the arm and that a piece had broken off. I'm clear now thanks
