Do rubber dinghy valves become brittle with age and need replacing and is there a reliable source of such valves for such a situation? Say for a Z or quicksilver blowup type 2.4 dinghy ?

I've not known of any going brittle but they can leak over time and need replacing. Correct replacements can be hard to source as they can vary in type from one batch of dinghies to the next, I have three different ones for Waveline alone, which at a glance appear to be the same. Often, they appear to visually match but the backing nuts are different so it's a cut and patch job.

Usually very fine cracks start to appear, rubber diaphragms start to perish. IBS Boat Supplies will definitely have something to replace unserviceable valves, I use them regularly.
