Broadbeam mooring reading to slough?

Cost will be dependent on location so impossible to say, availability next to nil. The marinas and EA do not permit living aboard on their moorings. That said, we know it has been overlooked in Windsor Racecourse and Thames and Kennet, Reading in the past. Only a private land owner could offer you a residential mooring even though strictly speaking that's not permitted either. Farmers are known to offer two trees to tie up to further upstream.

The other option is to join the merry throng wherever they accumulate and wait till the land owner objects and turfs you off. Or the local councils come up with a proper cunning plan for residential moorings but don't hold your breath.

The request looked a bit strange IF the OP had a knowledge of the waterways system (looks to me something like 'that's the area we'd like, rather than and real knowledge of the waterways...)
Young Crusty has answered the Upper Thames issue, that leave the semi tidal part Teddington to Richmond where there are moorings and most likely heavily oversubscribed. Then there's the canal system that will cover from Brentford and up the Slough arm. This latter is quite narrow and another widebeam may cause challenges.
Indeed there's so much pressure on moorings, you will have quite a challenge.

Sorry to be negative, but there's huge demand for lower cost (which it isn't) living.

The quickest and most reliable way would be to buy a boat already on a full liveaboard mooring in the area prefered which is transferable to the new owner.

And good luck with that.............................................
