British Boating Laws?

GCSE's are around the corner, also just the general anger at the world, because i feel strongly about global warming and everything...so free time and peacfulness i think of as a god send.

Ok so why are you looking for a power boat? Many of us get there using freely available ecologically pure windpower. Ok takes a bit longer, cos the wind always blows the wrong way, but much more peaceful and much more of a challenge.

OK I know this is the powerboat forum, but if you really do mean business about the ecology and climate change, then looking for a hobby that involves using lots of non renewable fuel sources doesnt make any sense at all.

That amongst other things may be why people here arent taking you too seriously....

Well assuming that you are who you say you are, then I might as well just say a few things as out of all the prominent posters on here I (think) I am the youngest, though i may be wrong (Suzyrosywotsit might challenge me on that one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

- GCSE's are harder than you think they are going to be. I took my mocks about 2 years ago and to be honest I failed in some pretty miserably, not all but I was having real trouble grasping some key concepts in each topic.

I had coursework deadlines being missed, and being the jammy charmer I am I managed to get myself out of handing things in on the dates set. I was always told by parents and teachers that if I didnt buck my ideas up I'd fail and whatnot, and it is only now that i can accept that.

So I decided to start again, turnd over a new leaf. I sacrificed going out with my friends most days and stayed in, did homework etc, got coursework in as soon as possible after working on them for entire weekends, and it all paid off. I got an A* in almost every piece of coursework at GCSE /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and its so good to get them out the way, and it took a lot of pressure off in the GCSE exams - I went into every exam with at least a C because of my percentage already gained from coursework!

Before GCSE's, we did a number of practice papers, and I was doing alright, and i thought the exams would be as easy as previous years, but on the exam days it was so much harder than I expected, and I've never been so happy that i worked on those pieces of coursework so i was guaranteed a pass grade /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If I was to give you some advice that would be it, and can i just say congratulations on being proud of good use of grammar, I am an English language A level student at the minute (obviously not on the forums at midnight /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) and its good to see

If you need any advice on anything please PM me

Chris

haha, you sound like my mum, but yeah...i suppose i should do some. the only problem is that for english language i have to write about 10 essays, and they are on films...we have to annotate the real meaning behind everything and relate the film to his life etc. etc. - but i don't see this, i just see a story which he's made as a film, there is no inner meaning. but nevermind.
...and oldharry, i want a powerboat because they are no where near as bad as a car or plane...and to be honest-a windpowered boat sounds far, far to difficult. you have to judge the direction of the wind, the angle you need to sail and so on...also with the outboards i hear you can get H20 ones, so its not bad for the environment. at the moment they may be rare or poor quality, but when i get my boat maybe they have took off, and are as good or better than a petrol one (assuming it is petrol you put in it, or is it some sort of special boat fuel?)
thanks guys...won't be on for a few days, im diseased and need some sleep to recover /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, well, that sealed it for me. A troll.

Oil powered engines cause pollution whatver they are doing - cars, boats, or planes. I think you need to forget about boating and go do your GCSE's. If you dont pass and get yourself a job that pays reasonably, you wont be able to afford a decent powerboat anyway - thats if you are who you say you are.

But you obviously aren't, so go away.
