Bristol Channel passage planning

Dont hesitate to turn left as you leave the bay. Its easy to go under the bridges and up to Chepstow and District YC and thornbury. In both cases you would nee to take to the ground in soft mud.

You could also go to Newport Uskmouth SC, maybe even to Lydney and Sharpness eventually. There are more places withing a day if you turn left than if you go right.

Lydney is the only place i have never visited but will do it this year.

Well worth a visit, one of my favourite destinations. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who describes themselves as a novice. I would recommend you go for the Lydney festival. There are normally thirty odd boats there and loads of really nice people.
For TimO I suggest you plan to head for Portishead on 26th January. Some of us are planning to head up for the BCYA AGM and Blue book launch which is at PCC from 11.00 on the 27th. I'll be putting details on the CYC forum soon.
