Why does that give me ideas?

I have heard of people falling from hammocks. Mid-ocean. It HAS happened...

DEAR ME, WHY IS IT SO HARD TO COPY PHOTOS FROM ONE POINT TO ANOTHER?

Reminds me that years ago I read that somebody once invented a passenger ship in which the entire passenger accomodation was gimballed.

Apparently it was not a success.

The problem being, of course, that you can gimbal as much as you like but the whole ship is still going to move bodily up and down and side to side.

I sling mine under the spin pole. You can then adjust port and starboard for the best sun bathing.

OK I'm persuaded. I've just ordered a travel hammock (the bright orange one was 40% less than any sane colour). I shall report back.

remember, if your racing in light airs you could probably tie it to the boat-hook and a stay, using it as a bispoke cheating spiniker.

its probably best to 'de-stage' the mother-in-law first, another problem solved by the boat-hook.

Yes - one of the small Newbridge boats came with a hammock as standard so that they could claim it had three berths.

The Coromandel, actually sold as a 4 berth!
V berth, quarter berth and hammock, as well as a separate heads compartment...
In the original brochures they "forgot" to fit the mast, making it look even bigger.

2 is a squeeze. Heads compartment and quarter berth are used for storage. :D
