I went down with one of my blind freinds today to look at her boat for her and she proudly told me of the new standing rigging she had paid for and the new flexible wire for the adjustable backstay. Apparently they said they'd done all the work and she beleived them and paid up.
The flexible wire (£45 plus VAT extra!)has never been replaced and looks the 27years old that the boat is.
All the bottle screws do not have any split pins in them and so the boat is not seaworthy. They only fitted two split pins in the backstay adjuster and they are not correctly fitted.
Who are these nameless pieces of excrement in the industry who seek to put people in danger just to make a few extra quid.
If you keep your boat in Brighton and you have work done please make sure you have someone independent check to see if the work has actually been carried out before you part with the cash. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
