SWMBO and I often go to East Mersea and catch the ferry to B'sea, have a walk along the prom to the learning tower cafe and have a bite to eat.

We went to the Regatta on Sunday and found that the cafe has gone and something else is being built in its place. Does anybody know what the building will be? Will the cafe be back?

I see that Kov.something, the Indian restaurant has gone. Some time ago they featured in TV programme about Bailiffs, "If you can't pay we will take it away"

The Batemans cafe is being replaced by the new building. Lisa, the owner, is currently running operations from a trailer in the car park. The plans for the new building are on the Tendring website here.

AFAIA, the caff is being rebuilt .. hence the construction site.

Yes. Thank you for forwarding the link, it is appreciated. I just made the comment that I had tried to find the Planning Application, to point out that I had made some effort to find this info for myself, rather than relying on others

Ah OK understood. It's not always easy to find specific applications. In this case I searched for 'Batemans' and got lucky!

A great touch is supplying blankets on cold days.
